DOST-ARMM conducts Membership Orientation for JO's/Contractual on SSS, PhilHealth and PAGIBIG
The DOST-ARMM, under the employee welfare and benefits program of the HR Unit, conducted a Membership Orientation for Job Orders (JO’s)/Contractual in order to inform them of the benefits of enrolling themselves in the services of the said partner agencies such as the Social Security System (SSS), the PhilHealth and PAG-IBIG.
This is in the light of the recommendation made by the Commission on Audit as contained in their Management Audit Observation, specifying the need to enroll all JO’s/Contractual to the services of the afore-mentioned partner agencies to ensure that they too, benefit from the services of the said government institutions.
The activity started with a prayer followed by Opening Remarks given by the Acting FAD Chief, Mr. Johnny E. Evangelista. The Resource Speakers from SSS, Ms. Shahara Tasnym Kamid, and Ms. Yasmin Lidasan talk about the process of Membership and the benefits of becoming a member of the SSS. After their presentation, they allotted time for the participants to ask their questions. All questions asked were answered satisfactorily by the Resource Speakers and the session ended with the participants requesting for Membership Forms for them to fill up and enroll themselves in SSS.
In the afternoon, PHILHEALTH presented the services they offer, coverage of health benefits they offer for members, the amount the JO’s/Contractual must pay to become a member and the benefits that go with there being a legitimate member of PHILHEALTH. One participant also inquired about the status of being a PhilHealth member under a sponsored program such as the Shajahatra, a social service arm of the MILF and the PhilHealth speaker answered that if he is already a member of PhilHealth thru the said sponsored program, he need not apply for another membership but must continue using the said membership under the Shajahatra. No less that the Head/Overseer of DOS LHOO in the person of Mr. Pasayod P. Berowa, MPA, attended together with his staff to give lecture on membership and benefits of being a PhilHealth Member.
Mr. Ronald G. Lee and Mr. Jomar K. Tugado from PAGIBIG/HDMF Cotabato City gave lectures on Membership and benefits of being a PAGIBIG member. The amount of personal contributions a would-be member must pay and the benefits that goes along with it were thoroughly discussed by the speaker, Mr. Ronald G. Lee. What PAGIBIG stands for were also given emphasis by the lecturer, pointing out the collaborative effort of government instrumentalities in helping public servants achieve their dream of owning decent shelters thru their housing programs. The participants attentively listens to the lecture and asks relevant questions on membership as well as the benefits that goes along with it. The session ended with a positive note where the participants requested for membership forms so they can fill it out and submit to PAGIBIG office and comply also with other membership requirements.
Overall, the program was able to achieve its goal of providing an avenue for the JO’s/Contractual to understand the process of becoming a member of the three (3) government institutions that provides social services through a very minimal contribution that they can pay conveniently, either thru salary deduction or window-payment. But in the case of the participants, they understood that their payment will be thru salary deduction and they will be treated as one group so that their remittances will be paid at once.
